OPPORTUNITY

The launch of a new Strategic Plan created a collaborative opportunity for the Camp Fire national office and Statement House to advance goals and ensure that all national research and evaluation strategies were equitable, centered in youth voice, aligned to program quality systems, and showcasing impact.

WHAT ARE WE DOING? WHAT IS HAPPENING?

Evaluation strategies that are culturally empowering, right-sized, appropriately communicated and resourced contain crucial elements for sustainability. In May 2021, the Statement House Team was invited to help the Camp Fire national network update its existing evaluation methods by reviewing and updating key performance indicators and outcome metrics, creating a strategic measurement plan, developing network readiness for a new tracking software and impact evaluation, and identifying potential funding partners and opportunities.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

Shawna Rosenzweig, Chief Strategy Officer for Camp Fire and Cristin Rollins, Statement House Chief Executive Officer and Principal connected through their collaboration in the 2015-2020 S.D. Bechtel, Jr. Foundation National Youth Development Character Initiative. Working together on Camp Fire’s evaluation strategy was a natural outcropping of a trusted relationship developed and nurtured during those years.

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING

“I’ve admired Cristin’s work related to developing high quality measurement strategies for many years. I’m confident our organization will be equipped with a stronger outcomes measurement strategy because of her quick ability to get to the root challenge, her invaluable knowledge and experience of what works, and an unmatched attention to detail.” ~Shawna Rosenzweig, Chief Strategy Officer, Camp Fire HQ
